We also want each child in our care to develop into responsible, caring, independent adults who contribute positively to society. To achieve these two goals, we will implement the child development programmes below which will be embedded into our weekly timetables for each child at the appropriate age.       child-development Punishment is sometimes necessary to discipline children, but this will always be non-physical. The home mother may use a number of techniques including increased chores, solitary thinking time and dialogue which helps the child realise why his/her behaviour was not acceptable.
